Privacy policy
How DiaQueue handles your personal and health information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Last updated: 28 September 2026
1. Who we are
DiaQueue is a diabetes monitoring service operated by Aplomb Tech (Pty) Ltd, a South African company. It connects Bluetooth glucose meters and oximeters so that patients and their care teams can follow readings together.
You can reach Aplomb Tech (Pty) Ltd at care@diaqueue.co.za or on 076 107 1600.
For questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at care@diaqueue.co.za or 076 107 1600.
2. What we collect
Account details: your name, email address, cell number and the role you use the app in (patient, practitioner or administrator).
Health readings: blood glucose values, oxygen saturation and pulse readings, whether captured from a paired Bluetooth meter or entered by hand, together with the time and context (fasting, before or after a meal, bedtime or random).
Notes and remarks: notes you add to your own record and clinical remarks your assigned practitioner adds.
Device details: the model and identifiers of meters or oximeters you pair with the app.
We do not collect payment details, and we do not use advertising or tracking networks.
3. Who can see your information
Your readings and notes are visible to you, to the practitioner assigned to your care, and to the platform administrator responsible for keeping the service running.
Practitioners only see patients assigned to them. Administrators manage accounts and assignments; they do not diagnose from your record.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except where the law requires it.
4. How your information is protected
Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is enforced per account, so you can only reach your own record.
We keep the number of people who can reach personal information as small as the service allows.
5. Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us at any time to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email care@diaqueue.co.za and we will act within a reasonable period.
You may also object to the processing of your personal information or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
6. How long we keep data
Readings are kept while your account is active so that you and your care team can follow trends over time. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information, subject to any legal retention duty.
7. Not a medical device
DiaQueue displays readings from your own meters; it does not diagnose, treat or replace advice from your doctor. Always act on your practitioner's guidance.
